San Sebastián (Day three)

Our last half day in San Sebastián.  It's not raining this morning, so after breakfast we headed up the other mountain (Mount Urgull), also recommended by our tapas guide Thomas as a great view of the city.

This one however, does not have a funicular.  Foot power is the mode of transportation here.

We saw a few of these cats, which appear to be feral

A little sun and its getting warm, especially going up

Had to shed the rain jacket
beautiful views to be sure

Finally at the top

History of San Sebastián, all in Spanish

Guarding the city from the top of Monte Urgull, the Sacred Heart statue merges with the landscape of San Sebastián.

The work, made by the artist Federico Coullaut in 1950, measures over 12 metres in height and can be seen from 4 miles out to sea..

We walked back down the hill and into the old town for one more stroll
a little shop with local Basque wear and dolls

a bread store
After a shower for me (too much sweating climbing Mount Urgull) and checking out, we went for lunch close by then came back to the hotel to wait for train time.

Our last coffee in the bar overlooking Concha beach
To the train and home
